The Q-Step is designed to help bridge the gap between the bottom of the aircraft’s L1 stairs/handrails and the ground. The design of the Q400 leaves a sizeable gap at ground level and the handrails do not extend out far enough for the last step. The Q-Step addresses these deficiencies, helping to improve safety for the passengers.
It has optional safety reels that, when combined with the Q-Stair, form an overall Q400 system. This system allows the under wing area to be cordoned off, directing the passengers around this area and as a result, improving the overall safety of the passengers and security of the aircraft.
